I'm working on a paper for one of my behavioral psych classes focusing on PTSD, blast-induced TBI's, psycho-social intervention therapies like CBT, alternative treatment like ayahuasca, and the furiously under-researched effects of long-term trauma on combat veterans.

I was lucky enough to make it to retirement relatively unscathed, but so many others haven't. They desperately need their story told, so I'm gonna tell it to everyone, whether they want to listen or not.

I always try to show war veterans some extra love but tbh I never thank em for their service. I don't support most of the actions they were involved with. I won't put a yellow ribbon magnet on my vehicle but I'll always make room at my table for em or offer an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on. "Support the troops" always felt more like "Support the war" to me and never seemed to be backed by much real action to help these folks.

Yeah except my local government; king county Washington discriminates against veterans and you can’t report that discrimination. To anyone. Nothing I did matters to my local community.

Let's talk about the vets killing themselves in the parking garage at the VA so their family won't have to deal with it, and the fact it's impossible to get pain meds they would rather send you to a methadone clinic

nothing I did mattered....all my brothers that died in Afghanistan, there life mattered none. 9 of my brothers have killed themselves since the
biden administration left us and our mission. a word to describe what has been done to us? treacherous
