First time Ive heard someone actually mention the actual reason. And Swedish brands crossed the 700 milestone due to the even more extreme hills found in Scandinavia, where swedish brands are more popular.

I'm old and we used to run trucks that ran and I still have mine. Not that they would be happy about be running it but if l needed the horsepower it would run if needed.

We learn something new every day I known this already cuz lots of hills in England the NETHERLANDS and parts of Belgium barley no hills so they have a higher weight limit

Most trucks in Europe go to 56 ton without out a permit on 7 axels more the that is with permit, and only the amount of axels limit the weight.

No its not why we have up 770hp. Its scania vs volvo HP race its start long time go when volvo had stronger engin then scania come with more power. Volvo 700 then scania 730 then volvo 750 and now scania 770hp and now we need see what volvo wil do 800hp ?

And when truck got more power the Engin dont need work that hard and wil use less fuel then engin who at 100% of power.

And weight limt base on how strong roads / bridge are. And bridge are big probleem in germany when we here Holland can hct go up to 60T is germany 40T with same truck.
