This dude had 15 oil changes in one year, and that was a 10, 000 mile oil change. Let that sink in

This guy is an encyclopedia of knowledge and I’m blessed he decided to share it

The more and more I watch yours videos helps validate my reasons for owning a 67 Impala, 89 c1500, and carburetor motorcycles. The amount of money and time wasted by people buying new vehicles only to have them in your shop is mind blowing . Keeps them guessing and money in your pocket.

I've worked on several 8.9 Cummins with bad roller lifters, every one of them had nasty oil, causing the roller to stick and wipe out the cam, due to not changing oil! Expensive fix!

I’ve been wrenching for over 30 years and I agree with you. These extended oil change intervals are killing good engines. I’ve never heard of an engine failure due to changing the oil too much.

This is the reason this man has a very successful business. He is honest as the day is long.

I read all the comments and i think like y'all, but one thing that blew me away was he towed the truck from cali, to Daves. I bet that was a healthy bill

I have a 1993 Ford F250 with a 7.3 Turbo diesel with 438, 000 miles, oil changed every 4000 miles still runs

Every one of these videos makes me appreciate my pushrod SBC and Pontac motors more and more.

Man...I know so very little about vehicles. I do my own oil changes on all my cars but that's about it...maybe some minor repairs here and there. But dude your channel is. God send to a young man wanting to learn the right way to do things when it comes to vehicle repairs/random vehicle info.

A good friend of mine ordered a F250 with a 6.9 IH diesel. He didn’t read the manual where they said to change oil at 5k miles. He changed it like a gas motor at 3k. To make the long story short. He sold it a few years back and it was still running good with 500k miles on it and it had never been apart and only had had an injection pump changed and a little transmission work done. Oil is the cheapest maintenance you can do and it pays off!

Lifters or valvetrain. Doing a short block on a 23 6.7 right now with 19k miles on it for lifter failure. 150k doesn't sound too bad now, right? Lol. Looking forward to see what you guys find. Wagler makes a slick solid lifter conversion for these trucks too.

NAILED IT!!! When I heard it I knew it was a cam/lifter issue.

I really love your channel! You ask and talk about the problem so we feel involved and in a small way, part of the brainstorming for the solution.

My dad was a mechanical engineer and he used to talk like this. He would work the problem out and usually when he came to a solution he was 100% correct.
He always said if you don't know, ask someone and find out. Look for possibilities that can help you get the answer.
I applied the same to my career as a network engineer and it paid off.

Dave you are a great honest mechanic, can't wait to watch your TV show.

Dave, that is for sure a roller lifter that has worn a trough on a cam lobe or two. Now theres a gap that causes that "rattle"
