That’s the EVAP purge valve that is stuck mostly closed. An idle control valve can also cause rough idle. A Mass Air Flow sensor can also cause rough idle.

Would this noise go down in volume a little after car warms up? Mines loudest when the car starts.

I have a tick to. But I believe mine is from my exhaust. It doesn’t do it all the time. Only when it’s cold. When it get warm it’ll go away

Spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold, if it’s leaking the engine will surge for a few seconds

As i can see that he removes vacum hose from valve which opens throttle body valve on intake, and that reduces air coming back from cambustion, and reason that combustion comes back to intake is bc intake some valves dont close all the way (bad valve fitting, cam shaft wear, hidrolifters etc) soo when he removes vacum throttle body closes that much that you cant hear air oumping back to intake manifold. Thats my thinking bc he dont say what is the problem and what is he doing precisely. But it can be something else i dont see good what is he doing

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IN MY MAZDA 5 2012, I CHANGED VACUUM SOLENOID BUT NOTHING CHANGED. CAN WE NOT DRIVE WITHOUT CONNECTING THAT PIPE, I MEAN JUST REMOVE PIPE AND NOISE VANISHES ?

I am also having this rattling noise during cold start. Once the engine warms up it slowding disappears. Sound seems to be coming from where the 02 sensor os attached/heatshield or the aluminum part. Is that the intake manifold?

The same problem in Octavia 2 1.6 bse the cars idling is exactly like yours and sometimes makes misfires when accelerating what is the problem I can’t find it in diagnostic it says 1+2 cylinder misfiring and also does this in lpg does my intake manifold has some leak and gets more air than normal or the seals in monifold is the problem? Is not electric problem all the electrical parts are new and the cars km is 375.500

You’re about to lose your engine..
If you pull out that rubble hose connected and the intake noise changed specially on 5.7 Toyota engines that means that you have loosen screws on the intake if they fell out they gonna travel into the combustion chamber and destroy the engine. You have to get the intake out and cut it open and unscrew the loosen bolts and the sound will go away
