I use VSCode and Sublime Text for JavaScript and overall frontend work.
For C++ Qt tools
For Java when working with WPILib I use VSCode, when not using a specific framework like that I typically just stick with Eclipse.
For Python (I mostly use it for scripting on my PC to make it more functional, W Linux) I usually use nano because I often have to make the code right from the terminal.

Wow I use a lot of these lmao

VSCodium doesn’t require licensing and is open source. Plug-ins are still licensed though and there is no copilot… but if vim is too hard you have an option

Emacs all the way. I don't care to use something as fancy as VSCode now because soon enough all of the stuff it helps you with will be taken care of by some AI.

Vscode because it’s free and looks nice

I use Helix because I want my userspace to be almost entirely rust

I'm weird. I use vscode for go, geany or kate for c, lapce for rust. It's about whether I benefit from feature access or not. Generally, I like Sublime, and if I had to reduce to one, that would be it. C w Geany is just a retro thing I do, I can do the compiler options easy.

I use a custom Neovim setup with only like 5 plugins installed cause realistically no one really needs or uses all the bells and whistles of a bloated text editor/IDE 99% of the time anyways. BUT if you ever need them installing them is pretty trivial!

I use vs code editor the most and regarding IDEs I prefer visual studio despite it is not that light

Everyone should at least know basic editing in vim for when you're working on linux servers
