In Quiddich, catching the golden snitch gives 150 points and ends the game, and games can go on for a long time before someone catches it, so one team could catch it but the other team scored enough points to win anyway. Pretty sure it was mentioned games lasted for months

When I was younger, all my friends were potter fans while I wasn’t a fan (Was more of a Robin Hobb kinda kid) so I constantly was surrounded by endless conversations about a series I personally found to be really sub par, and if I ever indicated that I wasn’t a fan, suddenly I was the person with no taste who just didn’t get what real fantasy was about

So having the whole world (my friends included) turn around to the point where you can see arguments like this made in other media brings a really petty tear to my eye, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it, truly my guiltiest pleasure haha

Ok so I’ve never gotten this all that much. Catching the golden snitch isn’t an automatic win, the act itself is worth a lot of points and causes the end of the game, but given the amount of time it might take to catch the snitch plus the also high amount of points that the other scoring goals are worth (yes much less than the snitch) it doesn’t make the situation all that crazy
