Dacia also have an EV, the cheapest one in Europe .... Dacia Spring €19.5K including 21%VAT in The Netherlands. Quite small, small range, fine city EV: CO2 free of course! No smog generation ...

Here in the USA we would love to see the Dacia Sandero. We have only a handful of cars below 25k on sale.

To the naysayers underneath..Isn't the whole point that ICE vehicles are the incumbent? The car industry status quo were saying for too long that EVs are nonsense, that people didn't want them.

So why does an EV find itself the top selling car?
Why is that significant?
How does that bode for legacy auto when chinese made options become available (which is starting to happen now)

You're holding on WAY too tight to this stuff, the shift is starting to happen in earnest. Just embrace it.

And hopefully the EV juggernaut will become unstoppable sooner rather than later

Based on this, an EV version of the Dacia Sandero, priced at under £25, 000 would be the biggest selling car in Europe. 😅 AFAIK Dacia don’t have an EV version of the Sandero. Dacia is doing well because their cars are affordable.

Another advantage of having so few car models is that Tesla easily get to number one. We could see more than half of cars in Europe on the road being model Y in a few years.
BYD would at least double Chinese prices for Europe. They already do for Atto 3 in UK, but still not a terrible option.

u do realize that renault (dacia) and stellantis (peugeot) are doing great. Stellantis is THE ONLY LEGACY WITH ZERO NET DEBT AND MORE CASH THAN TESLA, higher earnings... margins up 45pct, tons of BEVs coming out (+ fact fiat500 is one of the most loved cars in europe and ppl are slowly switching to the BEV version). Yet stellantis trading at 3 times earnings lol or basically at cash on hand 😂

Dacia doing well, precisely because they're cheap and great value for what you get. By this same logic as Viking suggests, this means cheap small EVs when they become available are going to decimate the top 10 list

Are these private purchases or lease companies, because I think in 3 or 4 years time a great many lease companies leasing ICE cars now are going to go under overnight, when the used market for ICE cars and ICE car resale values plummets.
