I love that they have the field sizes in "Morgen", which is an age old german way of measuring the size of a field. 1 Morgen being the size of a field that can be tilled by a single bladed plow driven by a horse or oxen in one morning. Roughly a Morgen is set to be a quarter of a Hectare (2500m²). The details in this game man...

Lasted 4 years on hardest difficulty on my 1st run thru before any tips or watching any play throughs this will definitely help me in the long run

A lot of people compare it to Total war - its the wrong ganr.
Manor Loards is the same category as - Stronghold, Knights & Merchants, Settlers, Tropico. The idea of double weath (personal and national is 1 to 1 from Tropico). Banished.
Its chain production city builder with RTS combat element into it.

The game actually feels like a direct successor to Banished. The fun note is that Banished is also a major game made by single developer.

The battles are lower scale because you are limited on population. The amount of army you can field is equal to the population you can Levy + the amount of money you can afford to use for Mercs.
Total war is a 4x Strategy Empire builder with RTS combat. While Manor Loards is a medival city builder with production chains and RTS combat on the side. They are not competitors.

There is a high chance that the game is going to get a lot of bad reviews from people expecting a total war competitor and getting disapointed because its a completly different game.

In reference to the question ‘What game would you compare this to’ which comes in at 2:08:30, I would compare this to three games. In order of similarity those games are Age of Empires, Sim City and Medieval II Total War. I can’t stress enough how much this game resembles the first two over the last.

There's a part at 2:12:30 when you take someone off the store house because they opened a market stall. I haven't played but I heard on another stream that because families are assigned to jobs, rather than individuals, they split the family members between working the job you've assigned and the stall. I don't know whether the it affects the work rate, i.e. if no stall means multiple members working the same job, but I would guess it doesn't.
