I've skied the wall and got down in one piece. It's even better viewed from the lift going down!!

The difficulty is largely a function of snow conditions. Having done both Alpe d'huez Tunnel and Swiss Wall in good conditions they are no harder than say an icy Hari Kiri in La Plagne.

The tunnel run is just difficult in the first few turns, if you just slide down sideways until you see a good line it really isn’t that bad and the empty runs after make it so worth it you can pick up some serious speed

I've seen a group of very unprepared skiers fall 1/2 the length of Tortin. They clearly shouldn't have even tried it. I've bee skiing Europe for 40 years and it's one of my favourite..

The Swiss wall I did it !!! it was my favourite RUN !!! There is another in Montgenevre (France) on the right part of the road (coming from Italy) .. and on the Swiss wall it is possible alsto do go down off piste on the right in the channel between two big rocks fantastic !!

Coni in vars is the steepest piste I have seen. It is next to the Speedmaster where the world record of speed skiing has been achieved.

You mixed Tortin and Mt. Gelé. Two different slopes in Verbier.

I did the Swiss wall but it was a day when there was so much snow that the moguls were basically covered so the only challenge was the start and the steepness

Franco Berthod in La Thuile is steep and often icy, but is pisted. Like all these runs, conditions make all the difference. Stay away following a thaw/freeze cycle, but in good snow, enjoy!

Really hard to watch, due to the butchered pronunciations.

I’ve skied Tortin and it was hard but manageable albeit not very fluently given my standard at the time!! With more experience behind me and much better technique I have skied La Face in Val d’Isere dozens of times which is always a challenge especially when the wind has blown the snow off the piste leaving just the hard packed ice behind. The most fun I have had though was on the OK piste also at Val d’Isere. I was lucky enough to have a private lesson on the day of the Women’s downhill and we managed 5 runs down the piste after the race but whilst it was still netted and closed to the public. Exhilarating doesn’t come close to describing the feeling of running down that piste - feeling the edges cut into the ice and ending up in the finish area at La Daille. It wasn’t my hardest day’s skiing but it was, by some distance, my best. I would also rank 3000 at Val d’Isere as the toughest I have skied. It’s rarely open but when it is I have always found it a bit of a monster whose saving grace is that it is short.

Interesting video. Good video work but I dont think he pronounced a single place name correctly. He even got "La Grave" wrong!!!

I find it disappointing that the Swiss wall is deemed one of the hardest slopes in Europe bc it’s not hard at all. I’ve skied down it many times and yes the moguls at the top are massive but if you are an intermediate skier or boarder you can comfortably get down it. Its just a bit long that’s all

it's annoying when people without any idea from skiing doing videos like this. for instance: the streif is not hard to ski at all even for tourists. only at full racing speed with icy preparation it is the worlds most dangerous downhill race. harakiri is a touristic gag. yes, there is a short steep part but there are much steeper and longer runs in tyrol/austria. just do videos when you know what you are talking about...

Commentator has evidently never skied these runs, as he hasn’t a clue how to pronounce either the runs or the resorts they are in. La Grayve, Grand Coolure etc - words from the mouth of someone who appears never to have been to the Alps.
