He is UNDERRATED. He is arguably the greatest live performing guitarist to ever play. His soul, his passion, his sheer, raw, unadulterated ability.. All of it. He spoke with his guitar, truly giving voice to his musical whims without even having to speak a word. Every note, every bit of his phrasing, you KNEW what he was saying. What his guitar was saying. Knew the words, as irrevocably as if you were reading a book, speaking the words of a poem, a speech, a statement. He was a conduit of God. To God. His talent can be nothing less divine. He never played a song the same way, ever. Not once. He let the winds of change flow through his music, and through his fingers. And it always blew pure. Perfection, perfectly perpetrated. The world is a lesser place without him in it.

One of his popularity problems was that most of my friends were totally into Metal in the 80s. I have always been a big fan.

Stevie da goat, Incorporated all the greats into his style. Really the pinnacle of blues. Most people said blues died 10 years before him.But in a lot of ways blues really died with stevie ray vaughn. Even has his own style blues, texas scuttlebuttin blues. True legend

How dare you even ask?! I was learning some srv last night and picked up many new licks from dorian, phrygian and others. More specific how he sometimes softens the change between between the 1 and the 4 with the phrygain scale that ive never herd anyone talk about. The #4 in the 1 and the 2 from the phrygian while switching to the 4 are the same note making the modulation in the guitar solo feel very natural and smooth. 🤯 Srv your a genius!!! Great thougth provoking video. And your not so bad your self

I am glad there is not blasphemy laws there, so you won't get arrested .😎 Part of Stevies cred is that he hit the road to make his talent known. There was no internet. He paid his dues.

He's rated just right. An absolute legend

Definitely not, he not only could play, he created what he played. When we get people who create and play things that move people make them have a feeling about what they hear. That's legendary.

I've never heard this before but it sounds amazing. Also what guitar setup are you using?

Dude this sounds awesome! How do you get this tone? I’ve been trying all sorts of things to get a good SRV tone but i’m stuck. I just enjoy tone chasing is all.
