Rick Singer, the mastermind of the very popular college admissions scam will finally be sentenced today in federal court.

Federal prosecutors are asking the judge to sentence Singer to six years in federal prison; his lawyers are asking for home confinement and 750 hours of community service.

It’s been four years since this scandal became known all over the world. In the end, more than 50 people were convicted for their role in this scam called Operation Varsity Blues.

In this video, I address the case, my thoughts on how Singer has prepared for sentencing, and why he will get the longest prison sentence.

Best,
Justin Paperny

Wouldn’t it have been better for him to negotiate even a longer sentence but do it quickly and not wait 4 years? He could have been done and out by now and starting anew. How should one balance “time served” negotiations with “let’s get this done quickly”? Just wondering.

He should get 4 years for every legitimate student he displaced by his crimes.

I was at lompoc camp with massimo. He was very nice man and it is a funny side note. He ran paisa and didn't associate with the whites. I went over and introduced myself and I was going to go back and talk to him when I found out he had been released.

I'm surprised you still wear the earbuds at this point. They're so 2013.
