A look inside the restored Notre Dame cathedral | AFP

This is a rare look inside the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris following five years of restoration works. A fire on 15 April 2019 ravaged the world heritage landmark and toppled its spire. Some 250 companies, hundreds of experts and thousands of workers were mobilised, at a cost of nearly 700 million euros. French President Emmanuel Macron conducted an inspection of the restoration, broadcast live on television, saying workers had done the "impossible" by healing a "national wound".

This is a real testament and credit to the incredible, dedicated and meticulously detailed work of the 2, 000 stonemasons, carpenters, craftsmen, sculptors, gliders roofers, stain glass artisans, foundry-workers and other engineers to restore the cathedral to its original glory as it was designed. What a magnificent feat...Thank you all and thank you to those who funded its glorious restoration.

all of the colors here are painstakingly and lovingly restored, and to actually see what people would've seen centuries ago... its amazing.

Magnificent Bravo to all who worked to restore this wonderful cathedral, I visited it many years ago and noticed a lot of the paintings were black from centuries of candle smoke and grime but I look forward to returning to see it in all its glory👏

It must be remembered that at the time it was built, most people lived in far ruder houses. They may have gotten paid for their work, but they risked their lives to build this tribute to honor God. I take time to thank them for their faith and dedication.

I cried over g the fire never believing it would rise from the ashes.
I cried again yesterday when I saw that it had!!
I am lost for words at the beauty that has been restored and I thank all those incvolved, especially the firemen.
