Have You Been Cooking Brown Rice Wrong? Learn This Quick Tip

Unlike white rice, brown rice still contains the germ and bran; The tough bran layer will block the moisture from percolating through the grain while cooking; that's why people often end up with semi-cooked brown rice.

The solution to that is to cook the rice longer with a little bit more water. I will show you how to cook perfect brown rice on a stove, microwave, and instant pot.

Thank you Mandy! I want to tell you and everyone that if you soak the brown rice for 3 to 6 hours then it comes out much better in many ways. After soaking you need only 1.25 cups water for every 1 cup dry rice, so soak rinse and drain and then cook with less water but for the same amount of time as recommended by Mandy. Bon Appetit😊

I have a bunch of silicone lids like that one. I absolutely love them! I use them all the time for so many things! I use the smallest on my cup of tea in the morning to help keep my tea hot for longer.

This whole time I thought I was overcooking my rice. Now I've realized I've undercooked it this whole time.

Thank you Mandy! I was actually looking for something exactly like this. It's going to be the Instant Pot for me. Love the set it and forget it style and not worrying about the microwave or watching a pot

I love the comment " ...burning the rice, which I have done may times in my life" What! An expert cook that burns rice? Happy to know I still have hope of becoming a truly fair cook. One that does not burn the rice. 😉

If you can find it, jasmine brown rice is AMAZING with just a little butter, salt & pepper. For some reason I find it sooo comforting

I never really liked brown rice. Maybe that's because I never cooked it properly 🤣 I guess I should try it again. Thanks Mandy. Have a great weekend 💞👍🐲

I really like brown rice, and find it especially good when making fried rice because it doesn't clump as much as white rice.

We always cook basmatti brown rice. My bride's favorite. We also use a rice cooker and the 2 to 1 ratio. Thanks again.
