Manual override of a lippert slide out

Nothing strikes fear into a camper more than pushing the slide button and nothing happens. Whether its a power failure or a motor failure, I will show you how to manually retract or extend.

I am recently widowed and decided to go camping as part of my therapy. I had one of my slides out to pack. Brought it in to check the air in my tires. When I tried to extend it, it wouldn't do anything but click. When I got to my destination, I followed the directions from your video and fixed it. Thank you so much for the help. Great instructions, Sir, and it worked! Grinding motor with no movement caused panic, but it worked like a charm as yiy instructed. We didn't have to use the manual crank for entire slide out, just enough to begin slide-out, pushed on both sides from inside, and then used automatic slide-out button and it worked! Then we lubricated everything and works great. Thanks!

Nice!! No, , , NICE!!! Thank you. I bought a 2017 last week with no manual or information. Baptism by fire if you will. In two weeks I will take this thing out. If it weren’t for people like you, I would fail. My wife asked me what do we do if the slide motors fail. You answered that perfectly. And, , , , I get to buy a new tool that I’ve been wanting 😂.

DO NOT USE AN IMPACT….. most of those motor gears sets have a plastic gear in it that will strip from the action of an impact ….. don’t ask me how I know….. you a drill.

Hi and thanks for the video. I have a 2019 Aspen Trail RV and the slide out isn't working. The motor isn't making any noise. I have to live in it full time and I can't with the slide out closed. I have paperwork on everything but the slide out. I'm running on electricity and have no battery. Do you know if that has anything to do with it? I'm hoping to get someone to get it out manually for me. I Really can't afford to pay a tech and buy a new motor. I've been searching for awhile and I finally found out the info on how to manually get it out. Thank you and have a great day. Shari

Is the location of the motor and manual overdrive located on the opposite side of the slide you want to retract? Thank you.

How does that work once the slide moves in?

Should be an access hole in the frame on opposite (passenger) side to attach a tool that came with the camper or a drill .
