Does God Want to Work Miracles Today? We Think So.

Are we really supposed to believe in miracles? Do we need to have a special faith to see them? Do they even happen anymore?

In today’s technologically advanced societies, we can be quick to reject the possibility of miracles—or we can trust so wholeheartedly in science that we can forget God still wants to show us signs and wonders in our world. Here and now.

Today, Fr. Mark-Mary challenges us to consider how we can be open to the miraculous in our lives and how to allow grace to strengthen our faith—whether we see miracles in our own life or not.

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The day before my CT scan before surgery, I experienced a healing. Very warm sensation and sense of well being. The CT scan found that I no longer had cancer, and the blood test markers gradually receded. God is so good.

I've seen miraculous events occur. Considering my reckless actions when I was young, perhaps the fact I'm still here is a miracle on some level. But even if I hadn't I would still believe. You're right Father, Grace is at the heart of it. Great message. Thanks for posting.

Father Mark,
Recently I had was effectived by 2 illnesses at same time. By over addressing one I'd created another issue that hurt many functions incl not being able to eat. I was faint and couldn't eat, or drive. Missed Mass for 5 wks from 1st 2 illnesse. In much prayer was convicted to try to go to Mass& Eucharist.
Went, was shaky, but received Eucharist. Felt better & miraculously could eat again. I was so grateful. Gets better:
3 days later tests show I had life threatening electrolyte imbalance& had to go to ER.
If I hadn't had the appetite those 3 days prior it likely could have gotten even lower, so low my heart would have stopped with out warning. God works miracles. Even with avg sinners. I can't explain. But yes, they occur.

I do believe miracles have happened to many. But many are in a state that they don’t see the miracle. Grace is what we need.
