Today we will be making Fufu kulfi. Kulfi is basically like ice cream and is a very popular frozen dessert in Pakistan.

Lol as a Nigerian it's so wierd seeing someone analyze fufu like this 😂😂 sometimes you're so used to something you don't even think about it, hope you enjoyed it 🙂

It's not actually made with the flour, but they boil the root vegetables, like yams, cassava etc and after it's boiled it is pounded to get that consistency.

Yams are called pounded yam in Nigeria which is what you ate..

Processed Cassava is called fufu has more of a scent
And the soup is called Egusi

Nice to see a person trying my ancestor's food, as a Jamaican, this is very tasty and can go with any type of meat or veggies.
Good work Mr. Gully👏🙏

I remember when trying fufu was popular on tiktok, and creators were very disrespectful towards the cultures that eat it. It’s not surprising that you have treated it with the respect and dignity that any cultures food deserves, but it is pleasant and appreciated. Common Gully Dub

My family is Guyanese and we enjoy both of these. However I took great offence to not eating plain roti 😂. There is nothing better than devouring a steaming buttery roti hot off the tawa.

I'm a Nigerian and I love that you are showing our food. This is not fufu though. It's pounded yam since it's made out of yam. The one made of casava is the fufu and it's fermented.

At first, I thought it was an uncooked potato but I was so wrong😂

Another amazing video once again! I sometimes have fufu due to coming from an African family, and it's mice to see your thoughts on it! While we're on the topic of food, could you make Yoylecake Kulfi next? It's a fictional dessert from a web series titled "BFDI."

I recommend eating this Soup (egusi) with pounded yam which is another kind of side we have with all the soups (in Nigeria we refer the fufu etc as swallow !) hope this helped 🇳🇬 😊

The way you compared the concept of Roti to fufu made my heart smile so big. Yes exactly! In Africa we have many things we call 'Swallows' Swallows are a starch we use to eat with our soups or stews or sauces, just as someone from Pakistan might use Roti as a starch to go with stews or curry. There are many different Swallows. Fufu is just one of the many. And you don't eat fufu by itself because it honestly doesn't rlly taste like anything. It's just something you use to eat with the sauce!!!! you explained it perfectly 💗💗💗💗. ive seen many ppl trying African food and just eating the entire fufu and then eating the sauce and it makes me cringe so hard haha. you just take a tiny piece of fufu and scoop a whole bunch of sauce instead.

I see this as their version of our "Ragi Balls" or ragi mudde, a ball made of Ragi or Finger Millet and popular in South India. Also often eaten with curries but most popular with South Indian lentil Soups and Stews like Sambar or Rasam. Very nice to see cross-cultural similarities!

Fufu just like traditional minor etnik in borneo. We called putu using tapioca crush it n spin out the water then we stem it
