The Neptune mod looks awesome, great job!
I guess the next step would be for someone to design a case and mod for the Neptune build to fit in with a Sega CD (probably version 1?), for an all enclosed, single power sourced tower of power. I'd love to see that!

I've seen people do this mod a handful of times and i've always wondered why nobody has designed a new board to house all the components from the genesis and the 32x (plus whatever mods) so that you can just add the major donor components from the old systems, and just replace caps and stuff with new. It looks like just a 2 layer board, and im sure there are schematics online somewhere. Yeah, I know the soldering would be difficult though... one can dream!

The next step would be to create a new donar pcb with the boards combined to transfer the ics to. The power circuits and video circuits could be merged somewhat saving space, a daughter board could be created if more space needed.

Fun fact, Sega had 5 to 6 32 bit systems 32x, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto and Titan (Arcade) plus this planned Neptune...and that was the beginning of end 65% market share 1994 to 2001 0% !
