Trump Taps Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy for Govt Efficiency Effort | Bloomberg The Pulse 11/13/24

Billionaire Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a new Department of Government Efficiency tasked to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” President-elect Donald Trump announced. The structure may allow Musk to avoid resigning from his companies including Tesla, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, and SpaceX, which dominates the worldwide rocket launch market. In Europe, Germany’s election campaign kicks into high gear today. Chancellor Olaf Scholz will make his case in a public address for another term, despite polls showing voters are overwhelmingly looking for a change. Scholz’s Social Democrats will tout the chancellor’s experience while criticizing the opposition leader Friedrich Merz, who heads the conservative CDU/CSU bloc and is leading opinion polls by a wide margin.
