The Crew 1 has been gone over a year now, but they corrected course for The Crew 2, Motorfest and future games. But why do they do this?

There's heavy misinformation that most discs don't come with the full game. Most STILL do. Please check DoesItPlay for an actively updated list.

Given that they've had to sell off a quarter of the company to tencent... They should get used to not owning their company anymore.

The more ubisoft is claiming that we don't own their games

The more their stock price drops down🤦🙄

Ubisoft: "You don't own your games!"

Neither will Ubisoft once Tencent buys them out.

As Ross said:

"The problem isn't a button that says 'Buy Game'. The problem is practices within the industry have become so predatory, that this is no longer an accurate description of what's happening. And no, 'Rent Game' isn't accurate either. Rentals tell you how long they last."

"The industry is trying _so_ damn hard to reinvent commerce, so that you're neither buying, _nor_ renting, but you're sure as hell paying them money, and being left with nothing at the end. _And_ you're not told when that's going to be."

Theres a way to go about it, but telling me i dont own a game i bought from you is a fast track to lose the last few people that care for ubisoft. And i mean few.

Remember, it's not piracy if it's cultural preservation.

If we buy a Product and then they proceed to make that Product unavailable they should start issuing Refunds

I think game companies have started to be a bit idiotic, I mean I understand that we practically don't own the game, but if I don't own it, why do I pay so much money for that game? If I buy a license to play that game, it shouldn't be that expensive.

In my country of Australia, video games are classified as goods which do fall under our consumer protection laws. There have been plenty of instances of gaming companies get sued successfully that failed to adhere to our laws. You know that Steam refund policy that introduced years ago? That was us.

Hopefully when Ubisoft goes Bankrupt, their IPs get sold to better studios and companies so they dont stop giving us content, i wouldnt like Motorfest's content with only 2 years of updates after The Crew 2 got 6

The problem with the argument of "just buy physical" is that it's unfortunately not that simple anymore, like The Crew and most games nowadays, and even Nintendo announced it recently, the physical disc/card itself is just a way to download the game onto your system, it becomes a paperweight after that, or like in The Crew's case, even with a physical disc you cant play thebgame because the company controls the game's servers due to always online.

The gaming industry seems to be the only one where they tell you, you are buying a license but not saying how long it lasts. It should be mandatory that they show how long this license is going to last so people can make an informed decision.

i regret buying Motorfest from this company . Also if we buy just a license don't charge us 80 euro charge 5 euro and then do what ever you want with the game if you charge us 80 euro and then you shut down the game then you steal from us.

as an assassin's creed fan, it saddens me to see ubisoft being this greedy for money rather than passionate. it's so jarring to see ubisoft making memorable games like driver san francisco and assassin's creed revelations, to releasing "half-baked" games and telling gamers to get comfortable not owning our games. as much as i disagree with their decisions, i just want them to get back up on their feet. if the tencent deals does go through, i believe they should get better management and take accountability for gamer feedback ;(

I would love for this lawsuit to result in the outlawing of online only games. Make it to where the foundational components have to be accessible offline.

if it has a story, like the crew 1 had, then you can make it singlepayer and discontinue the multiplayer services, but you can't cancel a product i bought. if you cancel it, you give money back to the buyers, full refund or at least half.

do i have to repeat myself again: we need to reform IP laws. 5 years is the Maximum a company should have Exclusive license to anything. after that, public domain it goes.
