Awesome feature of the Deye Solar Inverter

Demonstration of AC coupling on my Deye hybrid solar inverter that lets me use both my solar power systems to charge the battery (minus what the house needs).

Why is this not the default when the battery isn't fully charged yet?

This is called “Self Use” mode on my hybrid inverter. It has a CT on the Live / Line to the property next to the smart meter. When it detects power going to grid from my other PV only inverter it will use that to top up the battery. Once the battery is full exports will resume.

The annoying thing is, that it also counts the total export into its export limit, if that is set to, say 11 kW and your inverter could deliver 7 kW but another one also deliver 5 kW, it will limit itself to just 6 kW to prevent the limit being breached.

Do you have a second photovoltaic installation?

You have to connect Enphase to Gen\micro-inverter port of DEYE. I would show the generation on screen.

How are you able to divert power from the enphase system into the battery without having it wired into the gen port (ac couple)
Plus one you’ve ac coupled the enphase to the Deye inverter, you’ve to select that setting bc now the gen port isn’t being used as a generator port or a smart load port but as an extra input

Can you also disconnect from the grid in case of grid failure and form a microgrid while it's down? (What to name these things hybrid grid tie off-grid capable inverter?)

Deye/Sol-Ark recently (Nov 15) remote killed a bunch of their inverters in the USA. Offgridders suddenly found them bricked with a message on the display saying they should contact the US, UK and Pakistani distributors to get support in their geographical region. Sol-Ark then "offered" to sell affected users a replacement unit. Not a product I'm willing to rely on if the company has a history of killing them in user's homes.

Hey mate just wanted to leave a comment in regards to your video on Deye inverter It absolutely should not have Chinese brand electrical components and even upon contacting the Australian warehouse the person I spoke to had seen your video and it is completely false

solar generation is 1.8kW & battery charging power is 3.0 kW, HOW???
also sending to grid is not waste, it can earns money...
