What a magnificent rendition Of Act 1's drinking song. Bravo!!! I've replayed it several times, but decided to stop after a while because I don't want my neighbors to complain.

In my personal opinion, the costumes are MAGNIFICENT! I didn't care too much for the acting, though. This is supposed to be a song about drinking and carelessness, and the cast should be excited and enthusiastic. And yet they (mainly the soprano and tenor) sound more tired than excited. They may not be those kind of people in real-life, but this is an OPERA. That's the whole point of ACTING, like someone you're NOT. Just some constructive criticism.

I also prefer Covent Garden scenography and costumes and I am hoping to meet Alexandra Kurzak there.

I'm not a fan of these carnival-like costumes, but I'll take them any day over "modern dress."

Курзак перепела Дамрау, спела все ноты и проблем с дыханием, как у Дамрау, нет. Здесь все пишут про Оропесу, хотелось бы и её послушать.

Can anyone explain what that awful bed is doing in the middle of the living room (it should be a living room)? Isn't it too much? The singing is good, not great, though.

Stunning opera singers, stunning decoration of epoque but... The bed, the bed in the Salon, no apropieted, i think. 🛏️👀👀🛌

I don’t like this “fairy tale” concept for costumes and scenography... it’s a sad, cruel, desperate and very emotional story... it looses its authenticity in my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tenor is pretty good. Nice legato and tonality. Soprano is quite bad. But this duet has always been very difficult for a (especially coloratura) soprano to sing well since the tessitura is below their usual voice register so their part is difficult to control. The tessitura is more for a mezzo range soprano. Only a couple of sopranos I’ve heard throughout the decades have really nailed it, Anna Moffo comes to mind.

Ambas voces tiemblan un poco . suenan parcialmente mal apoyadas / Both voices are tremble a little. They sound partially poorly supported.
