SAD DAY! We Had to Leave & COST BREAKDOWN of Truck Camping | EP. 5 Truck Camper Life Arizona

This is a sad day! This is the last episode of our Arizona Truck Camping Series. We woke up in Chinle, Az at the Canyon De Chelly Campground and spent our morning exploring the Canyon de Chelly National Monument and then making the executive decision to make the long 9.5-hour drive home to Colorado. I’m also sharing our complete cost breakdown of how much we spent truck camping to Arizona for 7 days and comparing it to what we would have probably spent by purchasing hotels and dining out – how we used to always travel. Follow along in our last Arizona Truck Camping Episode as we share our time camping and enjoy the last sites of Arizona and go over our complete expenses from this trip.

Having your "home" with you has its pros and cons, but it can get you closer and more immersed into what you want to see.
I've done that type of trip with my wife and tent camping out of the car- we would camp 2 nights then get a hotel one night, etc. Also we would have a few restaurant meals occasionally.

Great series guys enjoyed it all... Your filming/editing is pro level and Thanks for all the expense insight and breakdown. Question for Vince maybe? I’m looking at Chevy/GMC 2500’s for my camper at the moment and wondering why you didn’t choose a diesel? I’m looking for pre owned also and finding Most of them to be Duramax/Allison combos. Beside fuel costs is there reason you chose the gas engine? Thanks much and looking forward to your Cali trip! All the best! Pauly

Thanks for bringing us along to your Arizona vacation — such a beautiful state.

Hiking to the top of Flatiron in the Superstition Mountains would have been a difficult but memorable hike.

The trick to hiking in Sedona is to arrive at the trailheads at sunrise to beat the tourist hordes.

For me personally, I don’t know if the cost savings is enough to make it worth paying the price to own a truck camper and dealing with the hassles attached. But with that said, I absolutely loved watching this series. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

So really only $300 ($50 per day) total savings if you didn't eat out when you traveled by hotel. That helps but not sure I see the value in buying 100K+ in truck and camper.

You had to buy the truck, register, insure, outfit the truck too. That cost is always involved. If the truck was a gift, it wouldn't factor. But as long as you pakd $100, 000 for that setup, ... know what i mean jelly bean? $100, 000 goes a long way to hotels.
