I own two R1T’s - Build quality and ride is better than any other vehicle I’ve ever owned … Service support has been outstanding as well … Sure hope they can pull through as the R2 / R3 models will see huge demand - similar to Tesla’s model 3 and Y …

R1S owner. I love it! I hope Rivian makes it. I have Tesla M3 and Mustang MachE. Rivian is my favorite vehicle. It is so versatile we named her Rosie after Rosie the riveter.

R1T owner here. Best car ever owned. I think I speak for many Rivian drivers that there next car will be a Rivian again.

Rivian didn’t concentrate on making one model (the Delivery Van) the best in its category and profitable, before moving on to the next model (the R1T). That was Tesla’s secret sauce and I’m still rooting for Rivian to right its ship. But adding more models while losing money on every vehicle you’re currently selling is not a good recipe.

I have had my R1S for the past year. It’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and my last ride was a Tesla M3P. I love my Rivian so much and it’s a total blast to drive. I am, of course, concerned that they won’t be around to see their R2 make it to production. But I hope they do! Starting a new car company is notoriously difficult and few survive but that was the same story for TSLA. I only wish they had pivoted to NACS for the R1 gen2 refresh that happened recently. I have the official Rivian adapter for Tesla’s Supercharger now but native NACS is like having USB-C. Anyway it’s a great fun car and I really hope they survive !

The Rivian is a great vehicle but it's an expensive one shot wonder. No matter how good a car is if you can't sell enough of them! I think the Cybertruck has seen it off.

people said the same thing about Tesla before the model 3 came out. Rivian needs to survive, the issue right now is cost and interest rates.

The Cybertruck launch has cut Rivian sales in half. Rivians are too expensive to build. The bed is shorter, it's more adventure lifestyle and the pickup market is not one size fits all. Awesome vehicle though and can now charge at Tesla Superchargers. Hoping you have an awesome trip to the US.

This is the real genius of Tesla. Their extensive automation, excellent supply chains, and in-house design and manufacture of parts is undercutting ALL of their competition. Tesla makes money on their EVs while no one else but maybe BYD can.

And Amazon is dumping one year old Rivian delivery vehicles big time. I personally counted over 70 vans parked at the NADE (National Automobile Dealer's Exchange) all lined up for liquidation in Bordentown, New Jersey.

I think they are dealing with some Osborn Effect. The showed 3 much cheaper version coming out. People are going to wait for those new cheaper models. Unfortunately, these would be available for years. Also, there are limited buyers in US for $80k+ cars.

Bloomberg reported that the part shortage is due to a miscommunication with a company that provides the copper winding for their in-house motors. That’s why it’s a shared part shortage and why they are reducing their output

My 2025 R1T delivery is next month. I test drove one yesterday and it was even beyond what I had hoped for! Interior is incredible and it drives smoother over rough roads than any vehicle I have ever driven. It drives worlds better than my Model Y. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire drive. I think if more people went for test drives they would have much better sales

We need Rivian, and other non-fossil fuel vehicles, to succeed. One of the benefits of non-ICE vehicles is that 130 million tonnes of corn, which is used to make 80 billion liters of ethanol (which is mixed with gasoline, in the USA), could be better used to help feed a food scarce world. Feed the people!
