Natural Theology: A Short Introduction
In this episode, I trace the origins of natural theology and place it within two contexts - that of the ancient Greeks and that of the Christian traditions. Natural theology is one of several routes used to prove the existence of God. It is important to note, however, the drastic difference between the God of the Philosophers, the God of the Deists, and the Christian creator God (ex nihilo).
I also take the opportunity to respond to weak attacks on classical liberalism and libertarianism by demonstrating that the central axiom or principle of libertarianism (the non-aggression principle) is easily defensible and supportable on grounds drawn from natural theology to natural law.
This is only a very short excursion into these subjects, but I believe the paths mentioned here are ripe for further research and examination.
