The headphone jack just seems like a given technology no matter how old it is. USB-C is not better because all they needed to do is put quality headphones in the boxes to give the customers a better sound experience.
This is nothing but a case of capital marketing. All Apple did was make their customers pay more for a different experience that really makes no sense. Why add more parts? Capital. Why do we need it? Marketing.

I wouldn't bother buying a phone without a headphone jack..i find the Bluetooth headphones a pain in the ass to keep charging etc ...bugger that

Don't do it, Samsung! Don't do it! You saw what happened when you killed expandable storage! Headphone jack or death! Choose! While we're on the topic, could you please start implementing a beefier DAC? My S7 had better audio output than my Note 8. Very disappointed about that. Thanks, Sal!

While I'm glad to hear they should be keeping it for the S9, I don't agree that they'll have to get rid of it eventually. There's nothing stopping them from including the jack as well as the USB-C headphones...why remove options?
