Samsung Galaxy S9 Waterproof Test

I’ve finished an all-around water test for my Samsung Galaxy S9.

It is officially announced that Samsung Galaxy S9 is IP68 waterproof. Is it true?
There are two ports that water is most likely slip inside the phone: charging port and SIM card port. So, I made a water test on these 2 ports. And I found that the running water didn’t enter the phone.
In the immersion test, my Samsung Galaxy S9 stayed in the water for 5 minutes, and I found that the touchscreen was disabled while the phone is under the water. So, we cannot take pictures or shoot videos underwater. However, the face ID and screenshot is working underwater.
In the IP68 Water Test, I try my Samsung Galaxy S9 in 1.5-meter water for 15 minutes. The device is still working normally after all these tests.

And I even shot a video underwater. We can shoot video underwater, no worry about water damage. Huawei Mate 10 Pro is awesome!

My suggestion is: Samsung Galaxy S9 is IP67 water resistant. We can use the Samsung Galaxy S9 in the swimming pool but don’t put the phone in water deeper than 1 meter and pay attention to the SIM card slot where is the weakest against water.

it didn't stop working, you need to wipe the phone before you can use the touchscreen so the water doesn't interfere with the screen

I have this phone. Yesterday I went swimming and forgot it was in my pocket. It was completely submerged underwater for at least 10 minutes when I suddenly realized what I'd done. I got it dried off and covered it with rice for about 2 hours. It is working 100% properly. No issues at all. I love Samsung!

I always wonder how the audio works after the phone submerged underwater?

The way touch screens work is that they're using electrons from your fingers to "touch" the display. Water interferes with that, and that's why your touch screen won't respond to anything (like a stick).

The reason screen has issues when wet is if the water has any kind of heat it triggers the heat sensors in the screen. The heat sensors are what help detect input to the screen. Same with if it's cold water the input won't be detected as the cold water cools the sensors to much
