I recommend If You Tell by Gregg Olsen. This is actually a true crime book that reads like a horror/thriller. This book has such great characters and dialogs. If You Tell follows the story of Shelly Knotek who abused and manipulated her daughters and her family members throughout her life. Shelly was married three times, and Shelly' and her daughters all end up living with Shelly's third husband Dave. Shelly takes in people to the Knotek home that needed help or shelter, and I will just say things don't go well at all. Just read this. Amazing.

i recommend Maeve Fly for another extreme horror novel, its not nearly at the level of Playground, but its still funny, visceral and i overall enjoyed it quite a bit!

I've heard "character development" a few times throughout this video, consider starting with berserk, it is definetly something you won't recommend to anyone because of how brutal it gets, it has a bunch of very disturbing scenes drawn very explicitly.

I can't say anything more about The Girl Next Door than "Do not read it, but it's easily a five star book".

Stanglehood is so good. I can't really explain it but the prose is perfect for binging. I still haven't finished it because I hate domestic/marital abuse and injustice so much that I can't read it for too long (Brandon Sanderson is the other reason why I haven't finished it yet xD). The moment when the psychologist confirmed that he already knew what was going on with Robert and did nothing was so infuriating.
Jack Ketchum is slowly becoming my favorite horror author. No one else plays with my emotions like he does :D

Looking forward to starting Playground soon. I saw your five star review with the warning not to read it and that's reason enough for me to read it asap. XD

If you want to get into extreme horror, look up Crossed. It’s a comic book series by Garth Ennis and it’s very very graphic. Fair warning, the imagery is highly disturbing. I had to stop reading it because it was too much for me.

[sarcasm] oh no you must be canceled for reading and supporting such dangerous themes bc i (random media illiterate person on the internet) can not tell the difference between fiction and its purpose to explore topics in a sandbox environment, and people wanting to do these acts in reality.[ /sarcasm] 👻😭
