We have been flat towing a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS 2.4l with the automatic transmission for the last 5 years FT. It has proven to be very reliable. It has 450, 000 miles on the odometer, and we have towed it an additional 35, 000 miles. This used to be our tow vehicle for an Aliner before we went FT. The best thing about this 30+ mpg toad is that it's paid for, insurance is cheap and maintenance costs are low. It runs great too. Plus, it's under 3, 000 lbs. so tows like a champ behind our gas-powered motorhome. We took the back seat out and installed some boards to increase the storage space and give the storage area a nice flat floor. If it ever becomes too expensive to keep on the road, we'll get a Chevy HHR to replace it, as it has virtually the same chassis and powertrain, just more storage space inside.

Worth mentioning is that some of these must be an older model, such as Honda CRV 2014 or earlier.

The all new Chevy Trax is flat towable according to the owners manual.

You're mostly stating the obvious. a better video would talk about the practicality of using the different models. the Jeep 4 wheel drive is easy to hook and unhook
