Welcome to day 50 of the 2025 100-day stash down event where I take you on a DIY journey of converting a pasta maker into a cotton gin.

Remember, for this stash down event, there are no rules other than to decrease your stash in some way every day for 100 days. If you are looking for stash down inspiration, check out the Peahen's January spin-a-long on Facebook, and the 1764 Shepherdess 2025 Stash Dive over on Instagram. The rest of my posts for this event will be on Instagram and Facebook. If you join in, remember to share your progress with the hashtag: #SipnSpinStashDown2025

This is so cool! I wanted to spin since I was a little girl and back then, I would take cotton balls and try to spin them between my fingers. I have been spinning for about a year now, this would be a really nice project for me to do. I have a pasta maker in my cupboard, which I haven't used since I went off gluten, this would be a nice way to make use of it. Also, the mocktail looks delicious! Thanks for sharing.

An interesting take on a homemade cotton gin. Entertaining. 😅

That is the old-style "roller gin" (invented in India centuries ago) that was replaced by Whitney's gin that used hooks to pull fibers through a screen ... effective but SLOW!

Wow, looks like hard work. I wonder if it’s easier to just use carders.
