These comparison games in the comments are stupid. First of all, Rhaenyra says it with grief. Daenerys says it with contemptuous strength. These are two different attitudes that affect the tone of the word being spoken. Furthermore, Rhaenyra has been literally raised with her culture somewhat intact. When you hear Rhaenyra speak High Valyrian, she is speaking it with the correct accent unlike Daenerys. Daenerys has had nobody to teach her proper High Valyrian, which is why she speaks it with a Tyroshi accent. She even fails to understand some sentences in it which is why Missandei is her scribe/translator. I love them both but please stop with the misinformation. We have yet to hear Rhaenyra say Dracarys in battle!

With so many Targaryens alive and interacting in House of the Dragon it really shows that Valyrian was thriving language.

I think it could speak to the fact that Rhaenyra grew up in a Targaryen house with the proper training and education while Daenerys grew up in exile with the lack of a strong Valyrian influence.

Danny's accent has been neutral since she speaks different languages. Rhaenyra's is of old-valyria hence her beautiful valyrian accent. I love hearing the contrast from both of them. I do prefer rhaenyra's.

I like both. Daenerys’s Dracarys was filled with rage and power at the idea of a low born slaver talking down to a Targaryen, as well as the idea that she would allow anyone to take her dragons away from her. While Rhaenyra was filled with rage and sadness at the loss of her mother and brother. Both carried weight and purpose, and both represented strong women who were actually able to be somewhat vulnerable but strong at the same time.

Both sound good and we have to remember there is almost 200 years difference so the sound of language changes over time and they are different people not representing the same person.

I was suprised when i heard Rhaenyra say it cuz i was half expecting the show to just copy paste Dany over her but glad they didnt.

Man they did well with the casting of Rhaenyra. She actually looks like she'd be Daenerys's ancestor because the resemblance is striking.

That Daenerys scene still give me chills and I actually love how different she sound compare to the HotD Targaryen. Great details to show the difference between a Targaryen Princess in exile and one who grew up surrounded by her people culture.
