i've been a content creator for 6ish years now & have witnessed so much change in this industry, especially after the pandemic & the introduction of tiktok. in this video i give you guys the full tea on the things i'm noticing about social media, my predictions on content creation trends, & how this business will change over the years to come.

I say this all the time, no one should have to burn themselves out to make a living. People should at least be able to afford the necessities. I hate that they made it to where we as people have to suffer because the rich want to continue to be greedy. Having to work a 9-5 with multiple side hustles shouldn’t be the norm but it’s sad to know that we barely have a choice because we won’t collectively come together to put an end to this. Consumers literally make or break businesses.

As somebody who JUST got monetized on YouTube this take is so good for me. I started sharing my journey trying to heal my body from fibroids because I only seen people posting the results but never the journey. And sometimes it’s embarrassing, sometimes I mess up. & I love that women are finding me and journeying with me even though my channel is small. I used to feel like nobody wanted to watch me because I wasn’t aesthetic but I had a video take off LITERALLY for the keyword “Nonaesthetic person” lol I loved this, Lynette. Thank you

Im slow and steady on my vlogging channel. I finally have 314 subscribers. I've taught myself how to edit videos. I go back to my older videos, and i can tell the improvement.

It's hard to sustain something that is out of alignment. This is also why I haven't yet pursued YouTube as a side hustle, but I have a lot of big ideas and may create content over time as I build my own business. Unfortunately, I'm financially unstable, so that's where my attention is at most of the time and I'm a mom too.

I wholeheartedly agree with you when you mention content creation is an art. A lot of people use it as a form of self expression, despite algorithms or followers. It’s a means to have your voice or even story heard. The world is shifting and many individuals are now using online media to keep record of themselves, document and share to the masses.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I definitely agree that soon to be successful on social media it’s going to be based on raw passion and how authenticity shines through. We might be more drawn to intentional creatives rather than doing things for money. Might even go back to longer form videos too🤷‍♀️ I’m personally excited for this shift 😅 I’m tired of the gimmicky content and the constant product sales thrown at me.

I don't think the golden age of social media is over, I just think a lot of people are "waking up" and choosing to go back to school, get a "regular" job, etc. I am one of those people, I say it with zero shade. But also my goals changed, I realized WFH would be isolating for me and make me depressed. I always appreciate your takes.

31:53 so glad to see you sitting with us 💜💙💜. Yes I’m a content creator. Editing my videos helps me love myself…. Sitting down and talking to my phone feels so freeing and then editing the video back allows me to appreciate myself more. I be like I am funny….i am beautiful and creative. Content Creation helps me see myself in a different light I guess. I love it. I don’t mind being vulnerable because when I watch other people be vulnerable, it really helps me so if I am able to help someone else that’s a gift I’m blessed to give. I’m not for everybody and my content isn’t for everybody but finding a tribe that sees you for you is so magical so I say don’t worry about the haters. Keep doing what you love no matter what. I gained a lot of success and fans from my paintings and illustrations and now I’m just trying YouTube out as a new form of expression and a more concise way to archive my artistic journey!
