I discuss some of the genetic issues associated with "advanced maternal age." There is early testing available now at 10 weeks in a non-invasive manner. The risk is probably not as high as you might think, and I discuss that as well.

I had both my beautiful girls after 35! First was born at 37 and the second at 38....four months before my 39th birthday. My eldest will be 18 years old in March! I have a friend and her mother didn’t get pregnant for the first time until she was 36 and she had six healthy children afterwards smh! Only God can determine what’s too old smh

I’m 32, pregnant and going into my third trimester. My husband and I want several children, so I plan to have pregnancies all throughout my 30’s. We didn’t meet until I was 29 and he was 40, so it’s a late start. Fortunately, we got pregnant quickly and everything is going perfectly with my health and the baby. I find it sad and discouraging whenever people tell women that they’re too old to have children. If you’re still ovulating, then your body says otherwise.

My lady is 37 going on 38 in a few months. We met at 34 and now we are trying for a baby for the first time. Both of us are healthy. We are concerned about these geriatric pregnancies. It is "comforting" to know women that are 39 and early 40s are still having a baby but with careful monitoring (and with a lot of money, if you can afford it) to make sure the baby is healthy. I am praying for pregnancy. Making a baby is tough.

My wife and I married late and had children late, neither one by design. We have two sons: our first by C-section when when my wife was 39; the second by natural birth at 41. Both are now grown, as hale and hearty as any men - and both quite successful in their chosen fields. This is not to argue against the cautions of medical people, but for us it was well worth whatever risks it entailed.

My mum had a baby naturally at 42. Most women are still having kids at 35 and past that.
