Eddie Jobson's screaming, ethereal violin solo still captivates me nearly half a century on. There's nothing else quite like it in all of rock music.

The greatest solo in the history of rock. Without a doubt. guitar, violin, whatever. the greatest!

Probably my favorite song by them. The groove is one of the best ever. Manzanera and the drummer and bassist deserve special grammys for this song.

Just another incredible track from a band that just oozed class from every pore. The older I get, the more I realise what a brilliant band Roxy were. Musicianship of the highest class, such variety of songs, multi instrumentalist and originality.

Damn... I had this album when it came out. I haven't heard this song in over 25 years. I just found it again and listened to it 4 times in one day. Roxy Music was one of the few groups that I had every album and played them to death.

My favourite roxy song. Mystical, dark, powerful. Roxy is one of the best bands of all times

Heard this in 1975 on KLOL FM 101 in Houston in my 1964 Ford after school...sounded like nothing else at the time...blown away...

I remember hearing this song growing up and thinking how amazing the “guitar solo” was and years later trying to describe it to my dad. Eventually he asked me if it was maybe a violin, and he put on Out of the Blue and I was so satisfied to finally find that eerie melody and screaming electric violin!

One of the greatest bass lines of all time in the outro. Blows me away.

jobson tears the roof off on his solo…and the phase-shifted drums!!! so much high drama and beauty at the end…

Was having a retrospective on this the other day blasting around the Essex countryside with this almost blowing my car speakers up!

That "runoff, " possibly never bettered in the history of Rock music!

They were putting something in our water here in the UK back in the day!

Remember seeing the concert for this tour and Eddie Jobson playing his transparent electric violin is still a great memory. The greatest group ever imo.

Took me the longest time to find it again. My teenage son came home one day from a used record store, told me he heard the most incredible song, and played this live recording. What an incredible moment to share with him, and the mystery of that crazy, blast-off ending, finally solved. Brilliant.

In this fair month 50 years ago ROXY MUSIC published their first album

Outstanding in terms of style and class

Made me fall in love with them head over heels right away

Lightyears ahead of their time

One of their 5 best songs and the first that got me into them. Comes sailing in on a wave of phased early King Crimson, then rocks in a black tie cocktail Doors style before some smashing Manzanera fills on what I call the chorus, then it rides back to the clouds on the Eddie Jobson violin solo. I'm an Eno fan, but this is Roxy at their absolute peak.
