China's Chang'e-3 lunar probe has moved closer to the Moon ahead of the first lunar landing in nearly 40 years. Officials at the Beijing Aerospace Control Centre changed it from its previous 100 kilometre-high lunar circular orbit to an elliptical one, meaning its nearest point is now just 15 kilometres from the surface. Chang'e-3, which is carrying the Jade Rabbit lunar rover is expected to touch down within the next week, the first landing on the Moon in almost 40 years. Report by Jeremy Barnes.

If I wake up 1 morning and the moon looks like my portrait picture I will give everything I own to charity and walk the earth naked just smiling at people forever.
