His Dark Materials - Main Theme (Piano Version)

Some of you asked for it in the comments of my previous video, now you get it! Honestly, I haven't seen the series yet, but I've been familiar with Lorne Balfe's music for quite some time and have been impressed by several of his soundtracks. What's also special about Lorne Balfe is his longtime collaboration with Hans Zimmer. Lorne Balfe was a co-composer on many of Hans Zimmer's most famous soundtracks (such as "The Dark Knight", "Inception", "Pirates of the Caribbean"). I hope you like it!

Oh, this theme is so gorgeous. Lorne Balfe's soundtrack is so whimsical and magical, yet sometimes subtly terrifying (e.g. Mrs Coulter's theme).

So good! I thoroughly enjoyed the arrangement. I love that this theme is so literal...touching on and borrowing from relative keys as well "pedaling" on the dominant note...it's like, yes this is home but it never feels settled.
