Just bought me a Note 8 yesterday. I know the whole S and Note Class inside and out. I'm really not gonna give it up for the S9 plus I can live without the AR emojis, slightly better camera, different size of battery, and slightly better processor. Nothing else is different! My friend turned in his S8 plus to buy the S9 plus and spent more money. It's not like the S9 plus outperforms the Note 8 by a lot just by a few milliseconds that's nothing. In my opinion the Note 8 overall looks and feels better. And has a few cool features the S class doesn't. The S9 plus is boring for the price. Just buy an S8 plus and save money if you don't care for the camera too much, that's all you're paying for in the new device. I had a choice between the Note and S9 knowing the Note is a bit older. I've always been a Note fan they're cool and they have better battery life than the S class. Probably won't get another phone til the Note 10 launches. Love Samsung

S9 plus is impressive, but also will be limited in number for the first few months, and price gouging by retailers will be a problem. So I don't regret buying the note 8.

Thanks for the review. I bought the Note 8 a couple of months back and I must say-it is awesome. Always wanted a 'flagship' phone. Glad I didn't wait for the S9+, as the Note 8 is clearly 'up there' with the latest launched S9+. Great and fast, as reviewed by you. Just a quick question, it seems that there is no setting for 'panoramic' shots when in camera mode on the Note 8---am I doing something wrong?
