Welcome to the Australian outback. It's The Rock Six Day Tour courtesy of Outback Motorcycle Adventures. This is day two of our six day ride to famous landmarks like Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and Finke Gorge. This was a spectacular way to get off the beaten track and explore the dead centre of Australia. Today we pack up camp on the banks of the Finke River and make our way through various cattle stations to to another remote campsite under a billion stars. Keen on an outback adventure? Try some outback adventure riding in central Australia.Welcome to Cross Training Adventure, we are into all things dual sport and adventure on the east coast of Australia. We early risers head straight for the fire each morning. A brisk five degrees last night. Thankfully our fleece-lined swags are very warm. If you are into outback motorbike rides then contact Outback Motorcycle Adventures. After a hot breakfast we head out across another huge cattle station. One thing is for sure. This trip provides the chance to become a soft sand expert. We even to get to ride in some mud. Keen on adventure riding Australia? Try some outback motorbike riding with these guys. Our guides say that sometimes there is a lot of water here after rain which makes for some interesting experiences. We will be riding beside the Adelaide-Darwin railway track for a few hours. The first railway line to Alice Springs was completed in 1929. But it wasn't until 2004 the railway finally crossed the entire country to Darwin in a total distance of 3000km. It bypassed various older railway tracks, and now it's mainly used for freight and the famous Ghan train. There's an example of an old Ghan locomotive just outside Alice Springs. The Ghan is one of the world's famous tourist train trips. Some say its name was to honour the Afghan camel drivers who came to Australia to help 19th century British colonisers explore the outback. Others say the nickname 'Afghan express' was mocking the unreliability of early steam locomotives. There was an old poem by Dorothea Mackellar that kept running through my head. Most Australian kids learn this at school. I think this will be the first and last poem I ever recite in my vids. A big thanks to the various property owners who let us traverse their lands. Our tour guides have spent years gaining access to these cattle stations. Without this access, we would be riding hundreds of kilometres on highways this week. We are the slowest riders in our group. Regular viewers will know we usually ride hard enduro, so we are almost never in sixth gear. Also we aren't used to riding sand. So you have to excuse our slow pace. But we did find a mapping switch on the Sherco called the Toby Price mode. Definitely more speed. But you know that feeling when you come into a broad sandy corner just a bit too fast? There was also a Toby Price Extreme setting. See that fence? We will be riding along this fence for a few hours in a straight line. It really gives you an idea of just how huge these cattle stations are. It's interesting terrain. The red sand is compacted and easy to ride. But there is a constant series of sandhills every two kilometres where the sand is much softer. The three of us ride side-by-side to avoid each other's dust. But we need to keep left at the crest just in case there's oncoming traffic. We settle into a pattern of race up each soft sandhill, then slow down and keep left at the crest which means the front wheel tends to dig into the sand. Then throttle on againith occasional detours to places like Vietnam, Cambodia, Romania and Canada. This is one of our three channels, there's also a Cross Training Trials channel, and a Cross Training Enduro channel. All three are equally dodgy. We are the 27th most watched dirt channel in Uzbekistan. We have won the polished turd award five years in a row. And we have a world record 25 class action lawsuits for inaccurate information. We think the whole motorbike scene is getting too commercial. So called dual sport riding reviews are just glossy ads nowdays. Everyone is trying to sell you stuff you don't need, convince you to buy the latest model with anodized coffee cup holders for your trips to the coffee shop.

Spent 3 years riding my 3 camels across different 'Ozie deserts in WA and NT, now back in Europe. I miss the place very much.

On a 1150 GS, would be interesting.... Have a V87TT as well, but it is European, therefore it in for repair. The GS is old, from the time when Europen made quality bike....
