I actually dated a guy like this for a long time. He gave me a gift like this, I shrugged it off because my family grew up super poor, so I’m not super into material things and I can be hard to shop for because of this. Forgave him because he clearly felt bad about it. Dropped hints for like a year that there was this one restaurant I wanted to go (love cooking, and food in general). Literally kept dropping hints for like 16 months. Never went until after we broke up lol

Guys like this aren’t worth you waiting for them to grow up. You may have fun when you’re able to spend time with them, but it isn’t worth the other hours he’ll spend watching you put the rest of your lives in working order.

I like how this skit covers the base of _well actually a lot of women do play with the switch to unwind and might really appreciate this gift_ by making it absolutely clear he only bought it for himself and to sloppily cover up his guilt over not remembering her birthday last week.
