I have loved the German Harry Potter Covers since I first started collecting Potter translations in 2015, and as I do, have been gradually collecting all the German Potter books in all editions. :)

In this video, I'll show you some of the German Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets cover art as well as discuss some of the reasons for a few of the smaller variations between the German First Edition. Also, I'll show you the über lovely German 20th Anniversary Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. And, last but not least, I'll unbox a book :)

Thank you for this video. Did you know that the verb “überleben” actually means “to survive”? So, translated back into English, the German title in the first edition means “A boy survives”, whereas the one in the second edition means “The boy who survived”.

Thank you for this video, I absolutely love those new german covers! I personally don’t like the original cover art, but I loved the anniversary softcover, and those new hardcovers are probably the best covers I’ve ever seen, so magical, I just don’t get why they used such a white paper, it’s not very comfortable to read :/ but I’m hoping to buy them anyway so I can read when I improve my german
