Thank you so much for making this video. There is so little information on the proper feeding of young parrots. I have a 1 month old Amazon parrot whose crop has not properly emptied in 48 hours. My spouse was insisting we needed to wait and it’s probably just stressed, but thanks to this advice we’re headed to the vet now. We’ve raised 2 Amazons but they arrived between 2-3 months of age, so this has been a new experience. Really grateful for this resource!

One more tip, if there's a lot of friction in the syringe and its getting harder to push the plunger, put a little bit of olive or coconut oil on it, it will slide smoothly.

Blame is not a helpful word. At worst it is a mistake and we all make them all the time it is part of like. At this point I stopped listening. Heating formula totally depends on the ambient of the climate you are living in. From Alaska to South East Asia where I live. Please listen to a variety of reference sources and then you decide which is the most suitable for your bird.

hey doc. weird thing. i started my avian owner a year ago, they were a lutino cockatiel, adopted due to the previous owner no longer able to take care of it for health reasons and that it wasnt being accepted with their older cockatiel friend. i adopted it when it was just 9 weeks old. i did not expect to adopt a cockatiel that young but i did it anyways. it was my first time being absolutely responsible for everything for a living being. from 9 weeks to 15 weeks. i hand fed to weened to freeflight trained my baby. my baby is now 1 years old. i adopted another cockatiel a couple months before 'just in case' i wouldnt be home for few hours. reasons was the previous owner were moving to america, they werent planning on selling the birds, but chose to accept to be adopted. at that point, i had some experience as their baby was also egg hatched to raised for 2 whole years, and thats what they were looking for. it took awhile of quarantine, taming the new older cockatiel because i personally saw that the cockatiel wasnt really handled 'gently'[pretty much grabbed from the cage] so it had alot of trauma. the bites were nasty and i was at the verge of giving up. but it happened, i tamed it. then bridged a relationship between both the cockatiels [they still 'distastes' towards each other but its alot better than i expected] now a year into this avian pet ownership journey, and both are fully tamed, freeflighted and recall trained. basically all i could wish for... and then i found out that, they were not both male. my first baby was a female. and she had laid eggs. ..yey? i did not expected to be a breeder nor was that my intentions. 3eggs hatched, 1 stillborn. 2 died a day of each other for the same reason. poop got hardened on their mouth and nose. i always checked every morning 6am when i wake up, and at noon daily..they were 1 week old and the youngest was few days old. only 1 remained, around 2-3weeks old now. were putting all the efforts and careful management on that 1 precious chick. i randomly came across your channel and video from researching for tropican's hand feeding formula and your praise about it. ill listen to your advices. wish me luck i guess.
