.............................................................

This is the new Renault Clio!

Looking at it you may not think the Clio has changed that much compared to the predecessor… And when it comes to exterior design, you’d be right! However, once you peer under the skin, you’ll find the Clio has actually undergone a number of changes since the last generation.

Once you're inside, you’ll find a fully revamped interior, with a big infotainment screen and soft-touch material throughout the cabin! Under the bonnet, there’s a number of engines to choose from, including a range-topping 1.6-litre hybrid that’ll achieve 140hp & 64mpg!

But what do you think, would you choose a Clio over alternatives such as the Fiesta, Polo, or a carwow favourite - the Peugeot 208?! You’d better keep watching to see if you should!

So glad you're still reviewing "Sensible" cars as well as the expensive/faster cars. Keep up the good work Matt.

My father got this exact car as shown in the video. He is delighted from the performance. In his opinion the car strikes an amazing balance between sportiness and comfort, for someone who doesn't live in a racing game.

I've bought one for my wife this january, Intens (highest spec here in HUN) with the 1.0 engine, and in this orange color. I'm ~190cm tall and 120kg, fit perfectly in the front seats, as a matter a fact when my wife is driving and I'm sitting behind her to overwatch the 11months old boy in the child seat, well I could travel back there for longer distances.
The 1.0 engine is quite good, bit weak at lower RPMs but from 1700-1800 it is quite good. Fuel consumption is OK, in the city with lots of 3-5km drives is around 7L/100km (33.6 MPG), I've done some highway and motorway round as well and it was around 5-5.5L/100km (47-42.8 MPG). Just for comparison I have a 2014 Octavia with 1.4 103kw TSI and that does 8L/100km (29.4 MPG) in the city and easily does 5L/100Km (47MPG) on the highway, so for the city Clio, for the countryside and highway Octavia, but the size of the cars make this so evident :)
Clio has around 5000km in it, so still breaking in, I'm expecting 0.5L lower consumtion.
It is a surprisingly good car, nowadays I found myself in to sit almost everytime into Clio when I'm just going into the city with for just couple of kms, easier to find parking places, front and rear sensors are good, kamera (when it's not dirty) helps a lot, boot space is enough for the Babydesing Dotty baby trolley, and the orange color is just awesome. Chicks comeing to me all the time to have chitchat about the car, never happened with 2x times more expensive black saloon Octavia with 18" alloys and Bi-xenon.. BTW the front LED headlights are freaking good, brighter than the Xenon in the Octy..
Suspension is more comfy than sporty with the 16" alloys, but here in Budapest you can barely find good roads..
All in all good car, worth the price (in january 4.500.000 HUF, ~11.000 GBP, today it is 5.500.000 HUF, ~13.600 GBP, thanks crap HUF :) ) the orange color was free because it was some kind of introductory action, 0% interest lease..
Recommended, drop the french car hatred, just sit in one.

The best in its class in my opinion.

I was able to use one, and it feels like the category above. The quality is insane!

Matt Renault Clio is a fantastic car. I drive it for the last 6 years as a leasing car (I am a sales representative). Perfect steering for driving in the city and for easy parking, it grips well, so it's very funny driving it on a twisty road.

The 1.5 diesel engine is one of the best I've ever driven. No problems at all, no oil consumption, fantastic economy (4, 5-5, 1 Lt/100km)

Build quality isn’t dictated by how soft touch the plastic are. Should be panel gaps, the processing finish of the plastic mouldings and the solidity of everything.

I have just bought this car in the exact colour with all the bells and whistles and absolutely love it. It’s quiet on the motorway, the Bose speakers are amazing, the interior quality is the best Iv personally ever had (had a corsa and fiesta before this) and it’s so high spec.

Heated seats, wireless phone charger, reversing camera with 360 view, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, easy park assist, ambient lighting etc

I absolutely love it!

Bought the Intens trim (1 below RS line) in August with this 1.3 Aut engine here in DK. After driving much more premium cars in the past this new Clio is such a positive surprise, a really wonderful all-arounder. Agree with Matt on slightly worse visibility than in a Polo, the gearbox used to be a little jerky when cold but this has been quite improved after 3k km. It is such a grownup car that actually doesn’t mind to be trashed around in the morning rush hour. I really love it.

Honestly I feel like it is the best B segment car at the moment. From the build quality to the impressive dynamism (even if it isn't the best). It was a MIND BLOWING improvement compared to the mk4, for sure!

The orange paint in real life is stunning.

That's a huge step forward in terms of interior quality. I had the old clio several times as a rental car and it was so cheaply build in the interior and had an unintuitive multimedia system, but the new one looks really good. And I think they made some progress on the reliability

You get everything from modest hatchbacks to hypercars (and even one or two bikes) on this channel. What's not to like! 👍🏼

I own the previous version with the 0.9 tce and I have to say that that tiny engine is a lot of fun. The interior quality is not so great, though, but overall I think it's one of the best in its class, as well as the new version.
