Just so you know in 1.1 blueprints are supposed to connect conveyor/pipes as well

If you are going to do a bottom loading factory then you don’t need a bottom foundation but it does help if you include a foundation or platform around your machines so you can keep the build clean.

If you use alternate recipes in the blueprint, dont fret because it will still print and the recipe will be avaliable. This also includes under and over clocking for that machine, before 1.0 it didnt remove the clocking option if you changed the item.

A tip if you do want to include foundations in your blueprints, is you can then put down one independent foundation aligned to the world grid, and line up your blueprint foundations with that one!

Blueprints do however snap well to foundations. so you can place a foundation on the world grid and snap to it, or lower a foundation and place ontop of that, or snap to the edge of your existing foundations. This is useful for when you want to include a logistics subfloor or are making ocean platforms for use with water extractors.

You can include the foundations, if you do it helps snap the blueprint to the foundations you build before hand

I haven't played Satisfactory for 3 months, so I might remember something wrong here. But while it is at times hard to use blueprints to build factories parallel to each other, they can stack on top of each other quite well when you design the blueprint building walls and its bottom and top with an indent that makes them fit like a lego block. You can then use the G-key and keyboard arrows to move the blueprint placement inch by inch until you hit the indent to build a perfect tower.

If you do include the foundation in your blueprint you can snap the blueprint to another foundation. So snap a foundation to the world grid then snap the blueprints foundation to that foundation
