Also remember that you can specify exactly what items to load or unload at each station, even if the cars have mixed content. Edit the timetable for a specific train, hover over the stations name and then click the cog that appear. Add items to either of the 'load only' or 'unload only lists depending on type of platform. Maybe not that useful at the mall, but with this trick you can serve several smaller factories with one train line as long as they use different items.

My sister and i loop the train at the end stations so it always goes in the right way. Makes it simpler, plus it can be expanded: If there are any mid stops like weve had to start doing (RCU & Supercomputer parts), we set what leg those get picked up on, and align that midstop accordingly. Havent gotten a mixed car yet

Colouring the cars and platforms is so smart!

PRO TIP: press the little cog icon next to the station when setting up a train route, there you will be able select “load/unload only X”. You can select as many items as you want. This makes mixing trains and stations super easy!!

You should be able to program in the train table that certain trans only unload certain items at certain stations. I haven't messed around with it but I discovered it a while back!

If you want to increase complexity and throughput of your train network, multilane train networks and single-direction stations and trains are the best way to go.

I set up trains like roadways and my train stations like parking lots. It was one item per "parking space", so it mostly made it easier. I had to do one test run each time I added more to various parking areas, but after the first trial I had no problems

I never thought about this. And its good that this popped uo in my feed today. I'm about to build a train line and in the past I haven't been able to deal with the problem without using programmable also, but this lead me to another problem. My sushi belt couldnt keep up with the items that were coming in.

my solution is: more trains and stations, that use the same railway, one station for each resource node, if for example I'm getting steel products and aluminium products from trains, I have a steel station that lead directly to steel storage and another aluminium station that lead directly to aluminium storage, you can use a sorter array but the multiple stations is a simpler solution and simpler is better.

I learned something about trains that really bugs me and I wish I had figured it out sooner. Items and fluids do not enter or leave a train station while loading and unloading. If you math your inputs for your factories to be exact this will cause item shortages.

The solution is storage containers and fluid buffers at both stations, the containers and buffers need to fill at a faster rate than they empty. Take the industrial storage container for example, you put 1 120 belt into it, and 2 120 belts from it into the station. that way your miner will fill the container continuously, and the through put will catch up after the train has finished loading... Why people don't talk about this more shocks me. Then you just do the reverse at the other end so you can empty your unloading train station faster that your train can fill it.

I love your videos, they're very informative. Your voice and presentation style is amazing. I don't even play Satisfactory and now I really want to give it a go :)

I just do single train stations for everything. This really helps with the evolving needs. So i never need to redo trains very often if at qll on higher tiers when things change

Coloring the trains and platforms is genius. I’ll be implementing that now that you’ve shown me. So difficult to remember which car aligns with which platform.

When I first unlocked trains I knew I had to use this empty space

I set my stations/trains up where each station only provides one item, and each train only pulls that one item around. Probably not the most efficient, but it makes the logic much easier.

We built a giant ring bus around the map with a train buffer midway (a section of track with signals) to control train flow. This buffer optimizes station throughput by adjusting train arrival intervals.

It’s nearly impossible to get exactly two belts' worth of throughput due to loading/unloading inefficiencies, but you can get close. However, optimizing timing is tricky because fluid and belt train stations need different intervals:

Fluid stations: ~1–1.2 minutes between trains.
Belt stations (T6): ~2.7 minutes between trains.

This mismatch makes it hard to optimize both types simultaneously on a single loop. Sending more trains might seem like a solution, but too many trains lead to frequent loading/unloading, which disrupts throughput. Conversely, long intervals cause station buffers to fill up, also reducing throughput.

To balance this, I use 1.2-minute intervals, which means belt stations have more trains than needed. While this slightly slows throughput, it’s better to run faster than slower.

Ive been wondering for a while now why people use roads and trains? I feel like with the 1.0 update adding the dimension depot i no longer need stuff like malls or even the need to move one part to another factory.

Ive just been creating factories around the map at the resource nodes needed to make a specific part then sending the part to a dimension depot. I have a factory in one place that makes my heavy modular frames and fused modular frames. One factory makes super computers. One factory makes regular computers.

I keep feeling like im playing the game wrong because of not needing to transport stuff across the map like everyone else apparently does
