On Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder | Michael Moutoussis, David Curtis & Andrew McQuillin

Показать описание
UCL Psychology Society and UCL Neuroscience Society jointly present a panel discussion on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, discussing the controversies surrounding etiology, diagnosis and treatments of these disorders from computational, neuropsychological and genetic perspectives.
Dr. Michael Moutoussis is a clinical lecturer at UCL, whose interest is in exploring computational models of psychiatric disorders to understand neural computations underlying mental health, with a focus on clinical relevance, therapeutic improvement, and the interplay between basic brain processes and complex psychiatric symptoms.
Dr. David Curtis is an honorary professor in genetics, evolution and environment at UCL. He is currently working on methods for detecting genetic variants affecting risk of complex diseases using large exome-sequenced datasets.
Dr. Andrew McQuillin is a professor of molecular psychiatry at UCL. His research aims to understand the molecular basis of and develop treatments for mental health disorders including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use disorders.
