Bipolar psychosis is one of the most serious symptoms that those of us with Bipolar Disorder can experience. It's also one of the most stigmatized and misunderstood. In this video we will talk about the different types of Bipolar psychosis, signs or symptoms, and ways treatment is approached. This is a very inclusive video with a lot of valuable information, so feel free to watch it more than once to absorb all the info.

It's very common for those with Bipolar Disorder to be initially diagnosed after being hospitalized or even jailed due to psychosis. My journey began after a difficult hospitalization. This can come as quite the shock to our family, partner, and especially ourselves. I hope that this video provides some well-needed information to anyone looking to understand more about Bipolar Disorder. You are NOT alone in these experiences and very welcome here at Polar Warriors.

If you have Bipolar Disorder and have experienced psychosis, please feel free to share your story here. Remember to be kind and professional with comments... This topic can be sensitive and a possible trigger for some, so it's important to keep that in mind. We are all here to help each other share information and grow =)

Mania Psychosis sometimes feels like I am my true self for once, then my memory of the experience is wiped and I’m just so regretful of my back to back episodes.

My girlfriend has just been sectioned with Bipolar Psychosis - I found out 6 weeks ago she suffers from Bipolar after a 9-month relationship. I now realise through studying the symptoms from way back at the early stages with Mania through to the depression. She stopped taking her medication 1 and half years ago after separation and divorce. she wanted to be a normal person with no stigma. I continue to support her and study the symptoms - I love the kind loving person she is and want it to work - thanks for these videos as they help.

My husband was involuntary admitted to psych hospital. He eloped. He's in denial. His family is in denial. He had severe psychosis. He's 57 and never showed any signs or symptoms of mental health issues. I'm having hard time understanding how he could change overnight. He's filed for divorce. These videos and comments have helped me. Thanks for sharing

Our journeys started the same. Didn't know I was bp2 until I was hospitalized. Couldn't sleep for a long time because of mania and went into a psychosis. That was back in 2016 and things got better for a while afterwards. Mentally deteriorating this year tho.. Stay strong my fellow bi polar folks. ❤

Once again, thank you! I had been putting off watching this. I've had a psychotic episode from mania. I wasn't taking my meds correctly because I didn't think I needed them. I was in full blown mania. I ended up hospitalized. I didn't realize what was happening until two days later. It was very scary and I didn't understand what even happened. I was afraid this video would bring back those feelings, but it didn't, it made me feel less alone and ashamed. So for that I thank you. This channel is literally a life saver. I have recommended this channel to so many people. I definitely would like to see a video on ect.

I often wonder why all of these disorders and symptoms are so dark and negative. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was only euphoria, positivity, productivity and happiness?? No suffering or trouble for anyone!

Absolutely. My brother showed signs for weeks that this was coming, but there was unfortunately no convincing him to take his medication, and at last he was near death, and hospitalized. He is in a state of complete psychosis as of now, but he is at least safe, and alive. Very helpful information. Thanks you. This has been just such a hard and heartbreaking period of time for my family and I, but above all, for my brother. He deserves a happy healthy life and is such a wonderful human being, and I just can't wait to see him come back to us. I am so proud of anyone who is dealing with bipolar, and do not blame or punish yourself please... You didn't do anything wrong, and you are worthy of a happy healthy wonderful life ❣️ Love yourself, and trust in the medical professionals and the medication you are prescribed. It is so important to stay on your medication. For YOU to live out YOUR best life. Thank you for sharing this video. 🙏 I'm just praying for my big brother.

Had an episode two years ago, triggered by extreme stress. I can’t believe I lived through it. From what I’ve been told, I nearly didn’t.

For someone who's actually not a doctor, but suffers from bipolar, I find these Polar Warrior videos by this particular presenter among the best on YouTube.
Not too esoteric nor grandiose, he gets straight to the point with abundant salient facts. New Bipolar 2 diagnosis for me in the last few years.

Talking to myself out loud helps treat my disorder.

The other side of psychosis is the family of the psychosee who cannot help. It is very distressing when they disappear and refuse to talk about their issues but instead harbour anger and fear about what we would do for and to them. There is help out there and so many have found medication a relief and revelation. But, some love their psychosis too much to believe in anything else. I love the bit about friends trying to intervene. Dillusions and paranoia seem more important than help from true lovers (family) who suffer horrendously for years. You nailed it. You have rationale and you are my hero.

Thank you for speaking out on this. You often hear of people who have committed horrendous crimes being talked about is having bipolar disorder. Society will then tend to associated with criminal or deviant activity well there are many of us with bipolar disorder who are highly functional ethical upstanding contributory citizens. As someone with bipolar 2 and PTSD I believe it is absolutely critical to continue to destroy the stigma and misconceptions people have about us

I feel intrusive thoughts along with dissociation from my behavior, paranoia, or an inclination to do something radical.
