When my class first started seeing patients in medical school our professor tried to calm us down by saying "don't worry - if a patient dies, it is not your fault. You are not allowed to kill patients on your own until intern year." And now intern year is in less than 2 months.

At the end of med school I was a depressed, anxiety ridden fat pale blob. I'm now starting the second year of my surgery residency over 10 kg lighter, after therapy and hoping for a good future. Hold on young medics, everything will be okay, even if it takes some time and leaves you a mess at some point.
