Back in the 70's here in my home town, a propane leak leveled the Chevrolet dealership. Seems like it was on a Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday, the propane truck came in for service. The shop closed for the long weekend. There was a slow leak from the tanks on the truck. The gas being heavier than air crept into every trunk and cab of every car in the service department. When the gas got high enough or dense enough, a light or heater came on and triggered the explosion. The shot heard round the world went off. Cars trunk lids peeled back like sardine can lids. It was and incredible sight to see. Thankfully the dealer was closed and no one got hurt.

Most door opener motors are DC and have a brush on the motor that will arc in normal operation. That is what would really be the risky part of the door being used.

I once changed diff fluid on an old Grand Cherokee in my garage when I lived in a condo. Apparently the smell wafted up into the hallways and units above the garages and someone called the fire department about a gas leak. They eventually traced it to the rear diff haha that was quite the night. Gotta love gear oil.

I grew up in a small Wyoming town that used to have a gas refinery. They were building a new shop for the Farmers Co-op in town and the excavator found an old (like 1925) tunnel that had been a fresh air intake to the refinery that had somehow ended up being used for dynamite storage.. luckily they found some people stupid enough to get down there and remove it or it coulda blown most the town off the map!!

Im a volunteer firefighter, can confirm showing up on scenes or at a department is actually a thing chicks do. Super annoying for those of us married or in relationships though. A few years ago a strip club burnt down, i dont think there was a single guy there who didn't have a booty call that night.
