My friends dad in high school was the local Ford dealer finance officer. He bought a navigator for her mom. We would joy ride it with dealer plates all over town at the age of 16. We were unstoppable.

I can totally understand wanting a vehicle you're attached to to go to a good home. It's heart-breaking to know that something you bonded with ended up at a breakers yard

I hope the Touareg story will hit the channel soon. Doug's stories are always fun to listen to.

Whatever you do Ed don't ever change the music on your channel it actually makes me want to watch sometimes. A story could actually maybe be boring to me but then you hear that beat and it makes it more entertaining. You nailed it on the music so perfectly.

I bought a 2002 Explorer Eddie Bauer, named Eddie, when I was 20 and drove it for 15 years. It was a brilliant truck until it basically rusted out from the inside out. It had 385, 000 KM at the time.

Thanks for watching! This is one of my favorite stories because of the memories made with Betsy. Have a great Friday.

Funny enough the title made me imagine Doug Demuro at first
is a 2003 Lincoln Aviator, and today we're gonna blow it up"*

I absoltely love that Doug makes spreadsheets to figure out which one is best! I do the same thing with any large purchase.

Ah, good ole’ 4.6L 4V head-tick, lmao. With Doug’s Aviator being a ‘04 model you would think Ford would’ve used the redesigned ‘03 - ‘04 Terminator cylinder heads. Guess not; classic Ford Blunder.

An ex of mine had that model Aviator back then and I definitely enjoyed driving it every single time she wanted me to drive … it was smooth as the Lexus I owned then, just sat higher with more power — a true luxurious workhorse; Lincoln produced a fine SUV in that one, for the time.

Since were talking about amazing trucks here, my 03 lexus GX 470 has been THE absolute best car I’ve ever owned.
I’m running around 275, 000 miles on it, and she’s still purring like she just drove off the dealers lot. Not to mention the off-road fun I’m able to have with it.

My mom had 2 mountaineers and a 04 Aviator. My dad at the time worked at a Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda dealer. So my family owned a couple ford and Mazda products. In a snow storm in around 2007 or so my mom was on a business trip to Maine. Driving the aviator, in the snow at probably 70mph on the highway when full-size 4WD trucks are stopped and won’t go. That thing was a beast. And considering she basically already owned two, with the mountaineers. Considering they are basically the same car. Very interesting vehicles but also pretty nifty also.

I owned two Aviators, also blew one of them up. I bought a 2003 back in 2004 and drove that for several years, it was a great truck. Fast forward to about 2015 and I bought a 2004 with some miles on it as a daily beater. After about 1.5 years of dedicated service it finally grenaded on me. I had the infamous timing chain rattle on startup from the hydraulic tensioner, don’t know exactly what happened but that probably played a role.

Word to the wise. NEVER buy Ohio cars. The salt is brutal.

Oh damn that’s depressing to kill an aviator with only 60, 000 miles.

Love the Aviator, had one as a loaner for about 9 days when I had my LS at the dealer back in 2005 and it was so much fun, sounded great, had great power and at night the instrument cluster was beautiful, definitely one of best mid size SUVs.
