I used to be against this, but after giving it some thought, I realized that those unmined resources would have to be imported from abroad instead, which is even worse both economically and environmentally. I now support this. Still, I wish coal was mostly phased out in favor of nuclear power, but Big Fossil Fuel has done too much damage with their greenwashed smear campaigns for that to happen.
