Not DEI or anything Political… O5 and O6 commanders are fairly insulated from Washington’s politics. There are currently around 1, 600 commanding officers in the active-duty Navy across all communities. In 2023, 15 Commanding Officers were fired, less than 1%. The most common occurrence anecdotally is DUI. All these military commanders and Senior Enlisted who spend more than 10 years on active duty, make huge personal sacrifices… it’s extremely tough on spouses and their kids. Many loose their spouse and kids. I would give these guys some grace. Zero tolerance in the Navy.

This is actually the 4th Naval commander removed recently for lack of confidence. Two were ship commanders. I wonder what is going on.
They were all minorities. Could it be DEI hires gone wrong?

Perhaps this is a signal to the other DEI selectees to get their shit together or resign. Apparently, Mark Milley and Lloyd Austin can't cover for them any longer.

Well… you did connect two dots whether you intended to or not.

What is going on in San Diego? The Coast Guard fired their entire command out there

Unless they're discharged completely, can they really call it 'firing'???🤔

Do you do this for every leader that is removed from Command? Or just certain ones? What criteria determines who you report on and who you don't report on?

Officer and a ''gentle-statment''...

It is with great pride that in my many years as a "Commander", serving in a number of command positions, I was NEVER relieved of command in any position held throughout my entire ADAF career. I count my blessings each day to make that claim.

I must say a long time coming. I felt they felt like politicians above the law.

If you have over 20 years …. Time to leave

They would probably not going to get promoted again, but don’t feel too bad for them. They’re still getting that Sr or Field Grade officer pay. Nothing said they were discharged. They can always fight it or have it disappear.

Possibly, she had a meltdown over the election and said something she might be regretting now

Can we ask why the Navy has to do this so often? What is broken with their selection process in the first place

What in the worlld is going on in the military today? Alot of these senior commands are getting relived from their commamds. Back in the day, you never herd of such a thing.
